PoE IP Cameras are a simple solution to many surveillance and video capture problems. Because of PoE, data and power may be delivered to the camera using a single ethernet cable (Power Over Ethernet). This post will show you how to set up an IP PoE camera.
This article demonstrates how to set up an IP (PoE) camera using a simple plug-and-play method. Unlike earlier cameras that required port forwarding through a router, newer PoE IP cameras include a peer-to-peer (P2P) feature.
Step 1: Connect the IP camera to the Local Area Network (LAN) using an ethernet connection. As most local area networks do not use PoE switches, you may need to use a separate power source. (An Ethernet cable tester can be used to test the Ethernet cable.)
Step 2: Install the camera detection software utility. Hikvision cameras, for example, make use of the SADP tool, while Dhaua makes use of the Config tool. Using the software tool, find the IP camera.
Step 3: Install VMS software on the local client, which can be your own computer. This software will allow you to configure the camera and, if necessary, adjust the default settings.

Step 4: Install the app on your mobile device, scan the QR code, and enter your login and password. You may now view the camera using your smartphone app.
NVR:
Step 5: Connecting to an NVR is a simple process. If you’re connecting the same brand, just connect the IP cameras through Ethernet. Make sure that the NVR has been configured to allow plug-and-play cameras.
Note: You cannot connect an IP camera to a different brand of NVR unless your camera is set to ONVIF and the NVR supports ONVIF.
